Work A Day For World Peace

Friday 3rd November

We can make a difference ....

by donating our wages we earn on 3rd November 2006 to the International Temple Project (ITP)  of the New Kadampa Tradition.

The ITP is committed to establishing Kadampa Buddhist Temples in every major city of the world.

Inspired by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's profound and compassionate vision of providing a place of peace and refuge for all living beings, this very special project is dedicated to building for world peace.

To hopefully something like this!

We are continually searching for a new property for our centre, we have out grown our present venue. If you or anyone that you know are aware of a property that may be suitable for us to use, please contact our Administration Director by Email or phone to let her know.

The specification of the property that we are looking for is as follows:-

Search for Suitable Properties

We are an educational and religious charity and have had a small but thriving Buddhist residential community in Darlington since 1992, serving an area from Richmond to Saltburn (including Stockton and Middlesbrough) and from Durham to Northallerton. We have now out grown our existing premises and are looking to purchase a larger property that would enable us to increase the number of residents and allow us to run day and weekend meditation courses for larger groups. I would be grateful if you could help us to identify suitable properties for purchase. The condition of the property is less important than its capacity and its potential to meet our needs now and in the future. A property which has been used for educational, hospital or hotel use would be ideal as this would encompass our activities. However, we would be happy to consider any property, including commercial, which might meet our requirements which are:

Accommodation
Potential for 12 single bedrooms

Land and outbuildings
We would prefer a property with some land which would provide a garden area and potential for expansion. Existing outbuildings with potential for accommodation would be an advantage.

Location
Preferably in or on the edge of Darlington but we would also be interested in any suitable property in another urban centre in County Durham or Teesside. We would consider properties in more rural locations if there were good road, rail or bus transport services.

Price Range
Clearly much would depend on capacity and location but we would be interested in properties up to £500,000 and might be able to consider above this price for the right property. Could you please send us information on any suitable properties that you may be aware of. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully
Helen Reeves
